We had a great October Pack meeting, with tons of boys getting their Bobcat badges. The Bobcat rank is the first achievement that Cub Scouts get, and is their true “initiation” into the Pack. It was fun to see all of them getting their “whiskers”, too! In addition to the Bobcat badges, we had a very full Belt Loops, Pins, and special awards list. This is the first year we awarded the “Recruiter” strip, and recognized the effort and enthusiasm that goes into getting new boys to enter into the world of Scouting. We also unveiled the “Banner of Achievement”, and put the first two boys’ names up there. Hopefully we can see a lot more boys get their names up there in the coming months and years. Jennifer Rodrique held a raffle for the boys, and shared some news on our Popcorn activity with us too – there are three Dens in the running for the Coco Keys trip! Keep selling! We’re doing great, and have only 3 more days to go!
Brian Houle, the Scoutmaster from Grafton Troop 107, joined us to talk about a Halloween Dance. It’ll be held this Friday (October 29th) from 8pm to midnight, and all the proceeds are going towards the purchase of a new equipment trailer for the Troop. Click here for more info. Even if you can’t stay for the entire thing, stop in for the silent auction!
After the awards, we were treated to a great presentation on Wolves by the folks at Wolf Talk. Finally, we all enjoyed “How to Train your Dragon”, and had a fun time camping out (some inside, and some in tents in the very chilly outside!)
