Pack Hike - June 2010 - Hike at Mounment Mountain

Description:  In case you aren't already aware of it, one of our Summertime activities this year is a Pack Hike this Sunday (6/27). Originally, we were planning on going somewhere else (Mt. Greylock), but have decided to change the venue to Monument Mountain in the Berkshires for a few reasons.

Anyway, the plan is to gather at the base (there's plenty of parking) around 10am, and hike up the mountain to the peak, where we'll enjoy a gorgeous view, and lunch. We'll hike a total of 3-4 miles.

This is not an incredibly strenuous hike, but please dress accordingly, with hiking boots, hats, sunscreen, etc. You should bring water, snacks, and lunch, too. As always, siblings are welcome!

Worcester Tornadoes Scout OverNighter 2010

Description:  On July 10th, there's going to be a "Cub Scout" Camping Overnight event at the Worcester Tornadoes. Participating Scouts will get some baseball drills and instruction from the players before the game, be part of a special parade to open the game, and will camp out on the field after the game. They'll also get dinner (hot dogs) on Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday morning. This event combines two of our favorite activities, baseball and camping.
The cost for the event is $25 per person, seen as choice B in the attached link. Chris Paquin will be the organizer/leader of this event; please see him if you are interested in going. Registrations close on June 30th.


Pack Event - July 2010 - Scarborough Beach

Battleship Cove Sleepover 2010

Place:  Battleship Cove, Fall River, MA
Description:  Come join the fun and sleep over on a real battleship, the USS Massachusetts! Pack 106 will be sleeping over on the battleship this summer, August 6, 2010. Check in will be from 3:00pm – 6:00pm. Battleship Cove is in Fall River, MA.

The event costs $40 per person, and with that you will get:
• Overnight sleeping on the battleship in a bunk.
• Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, and Saturday lunch provided.
• Exploration of all the ships and museums at Battleship Cove.
• A movie Friday night on the ship.
• Classes such as knot tying and Morse code.
• Story telling, orientation film, fire drill, etc.

We have reservations for 50 people, and a deposit of $20 per person needs to be turned in by February 18, so sign up now while there is still room! Checks should be made out to Pack 106. Reservations are first come, first serve. The first 50 people to sign up are guaranteed a spot. This event is open to all family members age 6 and up, and a parent must attend with each scout. If more than 50 people want to go, the Pack will inquire about getting more spots.
