Wachusett Mountain Hike

We enjoyed an incredibly nice summer hike at Wachusett Mountain on Saturday, July 9th. The weather was perfect and so were the trails. It was a pretty steep trail at some spots, but all the kids did a really good job climbing the trails and staying hydrated. At the top of the mountain, we enjoyed some beautiful scenery and were able to see Boston in the distance. The boys were credited with 6 miles for the hike, which is a pack record!
Luke T. got his 50th mile, too! He’ll be getting his hiking stick in the fall – way to go, Luke!

Douglas State Park Hike and Picnic

We had a great day at Douglas State Park on Sunday, June 26th! It was beautiful weather for a nice hike and some fun outdoor activities. We enjoyed the 2.5 mile ‘Coffeehouse Loop’ in a bit over an hour, and then had a well-deserved lunch of grilled burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream sandwiches!
One of the more interesting sights was a young red-tailed hawk that landed near our picnic area – I was able to get close enough to get a nice clear picture before it flew off.
The boys that hiked were credited with 3 miles towards their hiking awards.

Slight change to one of our Summertime Activities!

Due to conflicts with the Little League schedule, the Douglas State Park Hike & Picnic is being rescheduled from Saturday, June 18th @ 11am to Sunday, June 26th @ 11:30am. The Summertime Activities Calendar has been updated with this information. Hopefully you can make it! The event is open to all current 106 Scouts and families as well as any prospective new Cub Scouts in the fall. Come join the fun!
Food (hot dogs, hamburgers, chips) and drink will be provided by the Pack, but please feel free to bring some appetizers or snacks!
Let any one of our Leaders know if you have any questions! I hope to see you there!
