We hope all of our new Tigers and other new scouts enjoyed their very first pack meeting with Pack 106! They typically do not run that long, but we needed to fit in SO MUCH in such a short amount of time.
Cubmaster Alderton welcomed everyone, introduced our leaders, as well as explain the fundamentals of the Pack organization. He also gave us a great run down of awards the boys can earn when they participate in the many activities the pack has to offer. A couple of which were actually awarded that very evening! Three scouts earned their own walking stick after hiking over 50 miles with the pack: Cole A. Wesley C. & Alex H. We had a 100 miles backpack awarded to JAck F. We can’t forget this big achievement by Graham Z. He earned a personalized tent for hiking over 125 miles with the pack. Way to go Graham!!! We also had two scouts who earned the Summer Activities Award. This award was given to James A. and A.J. R. who attended every summer activity held by Pack 106 which included Beaver Day at Treasure Valley, a pack bike ride, and a hike up Mt. Wachusett!
Ms. Caryn Francis also gave us a fabulous run down of the popcorn schedule. So much for us to do! We have created a tab at the top called “Popcorn 2013” that includes all of the vital information including how to successfully sell popcorn, important dates to remember and all the prizes you can win!
And last, but not least, we had a wonderful visit by Animal Adventures. Where else can you pet a dragon lizard, skunk and a chinchilla all in one place? Oh, and did we mention the boa constrictor. Yeah, he was pretty large! The boys had a wonderful time view (and touching) these animals as well as seeing a tree frog and chameleon. We can’t wait to have them back again soon.
The next pack meeting will be held on Friday, October 18 where we find out how many pies Cubmaster Alderton will get in the face!
