This past weekend was a very busy one for scouts and parents of Pack 106!
For the second year in a row scouts, as well as many parents, enjoyed snow tubing at Ward Hill in Shrewsbury as a reward for hitting the pack-wide popcorn sales goal. We enjoyed hot cocoa and insanely delicious pizza for lunch. Some of the boys braved the hill by walking up and it still did little to tire them out!
Up next was Scout Sunday to celebrate the at St. Mary’s Church. The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls before February 8 (Scouting Anniversary Day) as Scout Sunday. We had a great turnout and the boys represented the Pack extremely well.
But the biggest event that was held this weekend was the Annual Blue & Gold Ceremony to celebrate the Scouting Anniversary as well as send off our Arrow of Light Scouts to Boy Scouts.
The whole event went smoothly and we think that everyone had a lot of fun. We are truly going to miss our AOL scouts as well as our fearless AOL leaders Cyndi Zarriello, Jim Reinhardt & Rima Hanna. They have been a tremendous help in keep the spirit of scouting alive in the pack for many years. Their experience will be missed!
We hope to see the newly crossed over scouts at other events with Troop 106. We cannot wait to see how they grow and mature over the coming years. Good luck to you all!
