Note that many of the awards that Scouts can get are termed “Temporary Insignia” and, technically, only one can be worn at any given time on the right pocket flap. However, in practice, many scouts place their “World Conservation” award above the right pocket, their “Leave No Trace” award on the right pocket, below the flap (and below their Progress towards Ranks beads), and their “Whittling Chip Patch” on the right pocket flap.

Officially, the “Recruiter Strip” is placed below the right pocket; however, many scouts prefer to place it on the left sleeve (where the Adult “Trained” patch is placed).
